Felix Carrion, who will be our keynote speaker at the upcoming Joint Cooperative Worship this summer was pastor of Euclid before being called as national director of the United Church of Christ Still Speaking Ministry. Thanks be to God, no one was injured in this fire. Please pray for this vital ministry in downtown Cleveland.

The Geauga Hunger Task Force was established in 1977 to serve the emergency food needs of our county. This organization is a coalition of churches and social service agencies. It is completely dependent on the generosity of civic-minded individuals, agencies, and area businesses. There are seven neighborhood-based food pantries that distribute food throughout the county.

There are also two after-hours pantries through the Geauga County Department of Human Services and at WomenSafe. Volunteers from each of these pantries along with community leaders form The Greater Executive Committee who defines the mission and policies. Residents in need of food use the Infoline Volunteer Center at 211 or 285-3194 and Copeline at 285-5665 to request assistance. The family may receive non-perishable food or vouchers to grocery stores for perishable items. A family may receive up to 14 days of food up to six times a year. In 2006, The Geauga Hunger Task Force has served 115 families a month. They must meet these needs despite the decline in government assistance and lowered community donations. The Geauga Hunger Task Force and this community thank you for your continued support.
The purpose of the Geauga County Cooperative Ministry shall be to promote and facilitate activities, programs of fellowship, outreach, and spiritual growth among the Geauga county United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as the larger church community. We seek to witness to the Gospel through a variety of ministries, using our combined efforts to achieve more than would be possible as individual congregations.
